Micheala Frizelle is a proofreader in Northampton, working with course creators, consultants and self-publishing authors who have read their own words so many times they can no longer see the mistakes. She checks spelling, grammar and consistency and anything that would confuse a reader, without polishing away how the person sounds. Thirty years of being the one people ask. Working online with anyone.
What they do
I’m a proofreader, and I help course creators, consultants, and self-publishing authors feel confident about sharing their words. I check their writing for spelling, grammar, consistency, and anything that might confuse the reader, while making sure it still sounds like them. It’s about looking after the person as carefully as the words, so they can publish knowing their work is clear, polished, and ready to be seen.
Who it is for
It’s for course creators, consultants, and self-publishing authors who know what they want to say and care deeply about getting it right, but have become too close to their own words to spot what may be missing. They might be preparing a course, website, guide, or book and want a calm, trusted second pair of eyes - not someone who will rewrite their words or make them sound like everyone else.
What people come to them for
People often come to me saying, “I’ve read this so many times that I can’t see the mistakes anymore.” They may have written a book, online course, workbook, website, guide, blog, or other business content and want a careful final check before sharing it with their readers.
What makes them different
I don’t believe proofreading should feel like being told off. I’ve been the person others turn to for a careful second pair of eyes for more than 30 years, long before it became my business. I begin with a conversation so I understand the person behind the words, who they are speaking to, and what matters about their voice. I then correct what needs correcting without polishing away their personality. My rule is simple: look after the person as carefully as the words.
